Working from home is here to stay, for those whose jobs allow for it. Many of our clients will be back to work on their warehouse floor, some in offices, and some at home. No matter where you are, World Environment Day (on June 5) is a reminder that staying green is still important! Here are some ways that you can remain sustainable, no matter where your workspace happens to be.
If you don’t think you have people to lean on in your life, cultivate some deeper roots. Maybe you’ve got friends or family where you just need to better develop the relationship with them. Or you might need to bring some new people into your life. Maybe start with those who share your hobbies.
Wednesday the 22nd is Administrative Professionals’ Day. They do a lot of work, for both big and small businesses. And a lot of work we business owners don’t really want to do, frankly! Our administrative professionals appreciate being recognized on their special day, of course. But we think an even better way to appreciate them is to keep them safe while they’re at work! This applies both to the office, and to their home office when necessary.
The problem with home office setups, in many cases, is that you’re repurposing items that weren’t really designed with a home office in mind. You might be working at a table that’s a little too high for you to comfortably type. In general, most tables that are at the right height for eating aren’t quite right to get the proper position.
The more productive you can be working from home, the better. Not just to show your employer that it’s both possible and beneficial. But also to give you more time with your family. If you can get your work done in a few hours instead of eight, then you have more time with the family.
Did you have a sit-stand desk setup at the office? If you’ve got a folding table, you can recreate it at home! Even if you didn’t have one at work, you can try it out at home with your folding table.
Do you find yourself exhausted in the middle of the day? Ready to go to bed as soon as you get home from work? You might not be getting enough sleep at night! In honor of National Sleep Awareness Week, we’ve got some ways to try catch more zzzzs.
Do you love dogs? We love dogs! (That’s Bunny in her power pose, accompanied by Chili in the background and Oakley checking out the course.) Whether you’re a safety manager, quilter, DJ, teacher, wedding planner or anything else, you probably have a furry little friend at home.
January 16 is Get to Know Your Customers Day. Even if you don’t own your own business, it’s important that you know your customers!...Your customer might be pretty clear: the audience at the trade show, the people who hire you to DJ their wedding, dog owners. But what if you’re working for a company?
In 2020, I resolve to take care… of myself. Join me in taking care of YOURself. Why is this important? At the risk of sounding cliched, remember the safety procedures they give you on the airplane. Whose oxygen mask do you put on first? Yours or your child’s?
