Sitting All Day? Tight Hip Flexors Are Probably to Blame!

Do your hips feel tight? Any cramping or soreness in the hip and upper leg areas? Tight (or “weak”) hip flexors are a signal that your body isn’t working in the way it needs to. Strengthening your core and hips (including your behind!) will help you loosen the flexors up.
There are three main causes of tight hip flexors.
1.Being on that behind all day
Sitting all day isn’t good for anyone.
Many of us sit at a desk all day. That’s in addition to sitting for the commute too. Then, at home, we’re sitting in front of one screen or another.
Strengthening core and glutes helps to stabilize the body. In addition to strength training, there’s another easy solution: spending less time sitting!
Get off your tuchus! But how can you work without sitting? Lift your work surface. You can try a standing desk so you alternate between sitting and standing.
The human body didn’t evolve for us to sit all day. Get yours up and about.
2. Walking/running improperly
Running with the wrong form can tighten your hips too.
When you’re up and about, good posture and gait will help keep you injury-free and hip flexors nice and relaxed.
The key to hip extension? Strong glutes that balance out the work your hips are doing. Make sure you’re working out that behind. Swimming freestyle (crawl) is also a good exercise for hip extension.
3. Tight hamstrings
If your hammies are a little on the weak side, they’re not doing their job. Your hip flexors have to activate to take over.

I set up an area on my back porch for bleaching and dyeing shirts. Unfortunately, the tables I got didn't have adjustable heights. She did not charge me for the additional expense of the larger size. She only charged me $15 for shipping. She told me that I didn’t need to return the original set but to gift them to someone who could use them. She was very professional and very kind. I highly recommend this “Made in America” company!
The NuChair design makes sense, so I bought one, and my staff love it! It does offload the low back when sitting and maintains tall strong sitting posture while sitting. In 40 years of practice I have never seen a chair that can deliver good ergonomics and postural support. The NuChair is the NuWay to get it done. Bravo.
These are a life-saver. I am going to get them for all of my work tables. No more hunching over! And, I can stand and work if I want to. We know that sitting is really bad for us. This was a VERY worthwhile purchase.
I am a DJ and I get tired of bending over all the time on a normal table. This thing did the trick! It puts everything at a much easier level so I can see it and reach for it so much easier.
Wow! These were the perfect solution to use at our food booth during a big event. Instead of purchasing another stainless steel prep table, we used these to elevate our normal 8′ tables and they were a lifesaver! Or should I say back-saver?
After a month, it’s really hard to complain about much regarding the chair. My shoulders, neck, and lower back all feel the difference, and as a 25 year tattooist, I feel the effects of work on my body. I train, stretch, and eat well, but also have a massive neck injury that has threatened to take me from my career, and it feels like this chair adds some years back!
My only suggestions would be for a more breathable, simple to clean material. Wearing jeans in this chair can get fairly sweaty, but I’m working around that.
Additionally, the other thought I had was to offer a shock height option for those of us that are tall. I suggested it already to the staff, and they provided me full specs on the current shock so I would be able to find a larger one utilizing the same width dimensions.
